CLOUD CAFE
The concept was to create a forest picnic experience within a comfortable and inviting environment. This vision was brought to life through key design elements—most notably, bamboo cladding on the columns, which represent towering tree trunks, and expansive windows that evoke the feeling of floating among the clouds. The bamboo cladding was handcrafted by local artisans using treated indigenous bamboo, adding authenticity and celebrating regional craftsmanship. Carefully selected color tones for the flooring, furniture, and walls further reinforce the forest theme. Fabric shades on the furniture reflect the changing colors of leaves and fruits across different seasons.

Wall artworks capture the essence of the Sikkimese forest and include a playful hidden puzzle for visitors. Each piece contains illustrations of endangered species, subtly embedded and only noticeable upon closer inspection. This interactive element is designed to raise awareness in a fun and engaging way for both tourists and children visiting the café. Some of the endangered species from Sikkim that can be featured include:
Red Panda (Ailurus fulgens)
Snow Leopard (Panthera uncia)
Himalayan Musk Deer (Moschus leucogaster)
Satyr Tragopan (Tragopan satyra)
Blood Pheasant (Ithaginis cruentus)
Himalayan Monal (Lophophorus impejanus)
Tibetan Wolf (Canis lupus chanco)
Assamese Macaque (Macaca assamensis)
Himalayan Black Bear (Ursus thibetanus laniger)
Hodgson's Giant Flying Squirrel (Petaurista magnificus)
These species were chosen not only for their ecological importance but also for their visual uniqueness, making them intriguing subjects for discovery within the art.
